FIELD: agricultural engineering. SUBSTANCE: potato digger has frame with two sides connected through cross-pieces and cross stays, rod-type separating elevator mounted between sides at an angle to horizontal plane, two shares for directing undercut soil layer to elevator, and drive. Elevator has parallel separating rotors positioned for rotation in single direction. Each of rotors is formed of rubberized rods arranged so as to define circle in transverse peripheral plane with gap between rods. Adjacent rotors are arranged in spaced relation, with space being kept during operation of potato digger. Rotors are mounted on shafts through rigid cross-pieces having rubberized peripheral parts. Shafts are positioned on bearings in frame sides panel. Shafts are driven through shaft of rotor first at share sides. It is provided by arranging one sprocket on both ends of shafts and one sprocket on terminating shaft. Sprockets are kinematically connected through drive chains equipped with tension devices. Frame sides are equipped with protective housings detachably connected at their outer sides to provide for sealing of rotors-sprockets drive parts, chains and tension devices.
