FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves placing a patient in prone position with the head turned to 90 deg. The side under study is positioned on the inclined surface of wedge-like support member. The head is positioned in a way that its sagittal plane makes an angle of 30 deg with respect to table plane that is open to lateral side. The cartridge is placed into the support member at an angle of 15 deg with respect to the sagittal plane of the head. X-ray beam is aligned at an angle with respect to the mandible on the opposite side and directed at an angle of 15 deg with respect to vertical line. Focal distance is selected to be equal to 100 cm, voltage is equal to 40 kV, electric current intensity is 100 mA, exposure time is 0.1 s. X-ray pictures are taken with amplifying screen without scattering grid. EFFECT: avoided image distortion and noise shadows occurrence. 4 dwg
