FIELD: shipbuilding; marine engines with water and gas jet propulsors. SUBSTANCE: engine and propulsor complex includes through water passage 1 with engine body 2 located along axis of this passage. Engine body is divided into two chambers: compressed gas chamber A and combustion chamber B by piston 3. Secured on opposite butts of this piston are two rods 6 and 7 with valves 8 and 9 for shutting-off intake diffuser 10 and exit nozzle 11. Intake valve 8 operates at advance of exhaust valve 9 shutting-off intake diffuser; exhaust valve 9 opens at delay and excessive pressure in combustion chamber B forces liquid out of water passage through exit nozzle, thus increasing speed of response.
