FIELD: production of quartz halogen filament lamps, coating of quartz glass. SUBSTANCE: composition of diffusive-reflecting coat for quartz halogen lamps contains, mas. %: zirconium dioxide, 36.0-37.0; ground quartz, 18.0-18.5; 10-% solution of copolymer of butyl ether of metacrylic acid and metacrylic acid in butylacetate, 32.6-32.8; benzyl alcohol, 12.2-12.9. Injection of benzyl alcohol in composition of diffusive-reflecting coat for quartz halogen lamps and usage of ground quartz in the capacity of fusing agent makes it possible to produce coat that provides for good heat- and light-reflection effect, displays high heat resistance, moisture resistance and mechanical strength. Application of proposed diffusive-reflecting coat makes it feasible to design to new class of halogen lamps generating directed flux of radiant energy which does not reduces mechanical strength of lamp envelope. EFFECT: expanded range of light sources thanks to design of new class of quartz halogen lamps with heat-resistant diffusive-reflecting coat generating directed radiation. 1 tbl
