TURNSTILE ANTENNA Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: antenna equipment, radio transmitting, specifically, TV stations. SUBSTANCE: turnstile antennas has two perpendicular active dipoles with length 0,5λ energized with phase shift equal to 90 deg and four passive dipoles with length (0,51-0,53)λ each. Passive dipoles are positioned above and under each active dipole at distance (0,5-0,6)λ from them. Such arrangement of dipoles according to numerical calculations supported by experimental data results in growth of antenna gain factor in direction of radiation maximum by 3.0-4.0 dB as compared with prototype and level of upward and downward side radiation diminishes by 5.0 dB as minimum. EFFECT: raised gain factor and diminished side radiation of turnstile antenna without any change of its directional pattern in horizontal plane. 3 dwg
