FIELD: casting of rimming steel. SUBSTANCE: briquette for intensifying steel rimming contains next ingredients (mass%): ferrum and oxygen containing compound - (50-80); dust trapped at aluminum production - (18,5-45,5); sulfite-alkaline slops - (1,5-4,5). Dust trapped at aluminum production is introduced to composition of briquette as carbon-containing matter and besides it promotes dilution of ingot slag. Sulphite-alkaline slops used as binder provides enhanced reaction capability of briquette due to separation of volatile substance out of it at contact with melt metal. EFFECT: high quality of ingot, less loss of rolled metal at moderate consumption of intensifying agent. 1 tbl
