FIELD: ice-breaking jobs. SUBSTANCE: hovercraft is set in motion over ice developing flexural gravitational waves. At maximum curvature of profile of said waves, vessel has maximum trim by stern. Then, vessel is shifted to braking mode till lowering to wave through after which speed is increased to maximum to obtain maximum trim by stern. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of ice breaking.
