FIELD: equipment ensuring navigation in frozen water basins. SUBSTANCE: hovercraft moves on ice exciting flexural gravitational waves. When curvature of profile of said waves reaches maximum magnitude, speed of ship is periodically reduced at frequency corresponding to frequency of resonance flexural gravitational waves till she lowers on wave trough, after which speed is increased to magnitude when ship has maximum trim by stern. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of ice breaking.
