HEAT-ACTUATED SHUTOFF VALVE Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

Abstract RU 2189515 C1

FIELD: household and industrial gas units designed for protection of gas supply systems in emergency situations, for instance, for shutoff of gas in case of fire. SUBSTANCE: heat-actuated shutoff valve has body accommodating lateral sprocket. Outer rim of sprocket is locked in body by retaining ring and connected by spokes with a hub which has guide of rod loaded by spring of locking member. One of spokes has through longitudinal channel in which pressure screw is installed on rim side and movable pin is accommodated. Movable pin acts on ball detent located in rod groove and locks it in open position. Fusible insert is installed between pressure screw and movable pin. Fusible insert is made in the form of thermosensitive cylinder. Spoke walls have holes in zone of location of thermosensitive cylinder. Said holes are perpendicular to cylinder axis. EFFECT: higher reliability of actuation of heat-actuated shutoff valve due to increased stability of valve response to temperature rise and reduced hydraulic resistance of valve passage channel. 3 cl 2 dwg
