FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy, namely production of aluminum by electrolysis in cryolite-alumina melts. SUBSTANCE: apparatus for breaking scum is mounted in sleeve with lateral opening communicated with hopper through inclined box. Feeding apparatus rests upon end walls of cathode casing; its inclined box is provided with detachable bottom. Aluminum cell has at least two feeding apparatuses. EFFECT: enhanced technical and economical factors due to stable operation of system for automatically feeding raw material to cell. 3 cl, 4 dwg
