FIELD: manual tools, namely, for cutting metallic wire, rods, steel cords and plugs of locking-sealing devices. SUBSTANCE: tongues-wire cutter have jointly connected levers with handles rigidly joined to their long arms; jaws mounted at mirror symmetry; cover plates arranged at both sides of jaws. Jaws and cover plates are mutually joined by means of articulation joints assemblies. On lateral surfaces of jaws between cover plates there are symmetrically arranged turnings in which rotation axle is placed. Said axle is in the form of heat treated stem dividing jaw by two arms. Long arms of jaws are jointly connected with short arms of levers. On short arms of jaws there is sharpened portion forming cutter edges. Cover plates have dents directed towards rotation axis of levers and rigidly joined one with another at side of dents. Fastening members for joining cover plates are placed in space restricted by short arms of levers and long arms of jaws. EFFECT: enhanced mechanical strength, lowered cutting effort. 5 cl, 7 dwg
