FIELD: nuclear energy.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method for cutting a two-beam spent fuel assemblies (SFA) of a nuclear reactor. Method for cutting the two-beam fuel assembly of the nuclear reactor includes cutting the suspension and its installation in a transport container for suspensions, cutting of the bridge, connecting two bundles of fuel rods, and installing them in the transport container. Gap between the bundles of fuel rods is measured, the suspension is cut with cutters, and cutting of the bridge is performed by cutters or a cutting machine, depending on the size of the gap between bundles of fuel rods in the fuel assembly. There is also a cutting chamber for the cutting method.
EFFECT: group of inventions allows to reduce the formation of chips when cutting SFA, to increase productivity.
