FIELD: mechanical engineering; arc welding devices. SUBSTANCE: according to invention, series-connected switching choke and power thyristor shunted by resistor, and welding choke, charging choke, first charging thyristor and recharging diode are connected to positive terminal of DC source. Common point of connection of power thyristor and welding choke is connected to source minus terminal through chain consisting of two series- connected diodes connected in reverse direction. Plate of filtering capacitor is connected to common point of these diodes, other plate of capacitor being connected to source positive terminal. Series-connected auxiliary thyristor and switching capacitor are connected parallel to switching choke. Charging choke is made sectionalized. Anode of additional charging thyristor is connected to one of terminals of sectionalized charging choke. Cathode of additional charging thyristor is connected with cathode of power thyristor. Switching capacitor is connected in parallel with circuit consisting of charging choke, first charging thyristor and recharging diode. It is connected in series with circuit consisting of charging choke, first charging thyristor and blocking diode. Cathode of blocking diode is connected to negative terminal of source. Such design makes it possible to use charging current of switching capacitor to control welding process. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities. 2 dwg
