FIELD: development of oil fields with reserves difficult to extract ( low-penetrability collectors, undersaturated and intricately laid oil pools ). SUBSTANCE: according to process first injection and production wells are constructed. Forcing agents are then injected into productive strata and formation fluids are taken from productive strata through production wells. Dependence of residual saturation on pressure gradient between lines of injection of forcing agents and extraction of formation fluids is determined in correspondence with invention. Location of wells is varied depending on distribution of zones of residual saturation and categories of these wells. Wells with various profiles of shafts are related to these wells. Various injection pressures are formed. That degree of total homogeneity or inhomogeneity of injection flows in productive strata and/or that intensity of withdrawal of formation fluids from productive strata which ensure maximum possible values of oil extraction and profit from oil production are determined.
