FIELD: refrigerating engineering. SUBSTANCE: temperature and pressure at the inlet to the turbine, temperature and pressure past the turbine and the rotational speed of its rotor are measured. If the current value of the reduced rotational speed is lower or higher then the preset optimum value of the reduced rotational sped, the braking torque of the rotor is respectively increased or decreased. The rotor braking torque is varied by action on the braking device until the preset and current values of the reduced rotational speeds of the rotor become equal. If the measured value of the air temperature past the refrigerating plant is lower or higher thane the preset one, the quantity of the blow-down air is increased or decreased respectively until the preset and measured values of temperatures become equal. The quantity of the blow-down air may be varied by decreasing or increasing the degree of throttling of the flow of the blow-down air at its inlet to or outlet from the air-to-air heat exchanger. EFFECT: enhanced power efficiency. 6 cl, 1 dwg
