FIELD: mechanical engineering, aviation and heat engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves preparing product surface to coating applying procedure; providing plasma spraying of coating of powder alloy comprising Ni-Cr-Al system; treating coating with continuous laser beam having average power density of 250-350 kW/sq. cm and average energy density of 0.8-1.3 kJ/sq. cm. Carbon dioxide laser, yttrium aluminum garnet laser etc may be used as laser beam source. Laser beam treatment may be performed in open air and does not require creating of special atmosphere. Method allows high-quality coatings to be provided for protecting parts of gas turbine engines and gas turbine units (nozzles, combustion chamber lines etc) from high- temperature oxidation and corrosion. EFFECT: increased adhesiveness and abrasion-resistance and, as a result, increased service life and enhanced reliability in operation of products provided with such coating. 3 cl, 1 tbl
