FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method involves placing an article with heat-resistant coating in a sputtering chamber, filled with mixture of oxygen and inert gas, heating article, magnetron sputtering a target made from a zirconium-based alloy with formation of ceramic layer and heat-treating said article and is characterised by that article is heated at least partially by a stream of gas-discharge magnetron plasma to temperature of 200-800 °C and target used is made from an alloy of zirconium, yttrium, gadolinium and hafnium of following composition, wt%: yttrium - 6-10, gadolinium - 6-10, hafnium 3-7, zirconium - balance.
EFFECT: achieving prolonged heat protection at temperatures higher than 1,200 °C.
