FIELD: aviation, ship building, automobile construction etc. SUBSTANCE: method involves preliminarily boronizing container and body of apparatus in saturating mixture of the same composition, from which part is manufactured; placing part in each body of apparatus so that gap between outer helical surface of part and body is 0.5-1.0 mm. Body of apparatus is equipped with equally spaced openings arranged along axial line of slots of part helical surface. Method provides for improved quality of boronized layer by intensified saturation of slots in part surface and retarding the process of boronizing upper points of part surface, and is used for boronizing of screw drives such as screws, worms and like mechanisms. EFFECT: increased efficiency by regulating thickness of diffusion layer, its hardness, strength, wear-resistance and corrosion resistance. 1 dwg
