FIELD: mechanical engineering; checking welded and soldered joints of cylindrical parts made of heterogeneous materials. SUBSTANCE: according to proposed method, bead is made on outer surface of welded or soldered parts. Bead should include part of joint. Thickness of bead is calculated by formula: Δ = C1D1/4[1-(D1/D2)2] where Δ is thickness of bead; C1 is tabulated coefficient defined by ratio D2/D1; D1 is diameter of bead in place of joint getting onto side surface of bead place being located at maximum distance from part axis; D2 is outer diameter of bead. Part of bead located higher than joint is exposed to uniformly distributed load parallel to axis of parts in direction opposite to point of joint getting onto outer surface of parts. Such distribution of load provides maximum stressed state in part of joint located in bead. If quality of joint is poor, bead will be broken in joint at loading. Joint is considered good if bead is broken in boundary zone of joint. EFFECT: improved reliability of checking. 1 dwg
