FIELD: nuclear reactors. SUBSTANCE: segments are made of shaped parts, pipes, and adapters; semi-circular slots are cut in surfaces of shaped parts contacting adjacent parts and interconnected by means of transverse holes; cross-sectional areas of slots and holes follow those of pipes and adapters; holes are made in pipes for adapters; solder is run over outer surfaces of pipes and adapters; pipes are placed in slots and adapters, in holes of shaped parts; the latter are assembled in stack, welded together along slots, pipe and adapter joints are remotely welded, segments are heated to temperature high enough for hot stamping to acquire desired shape, then they are welded over edges to form sectors wherein auxiliary openings are cut; channel holes in openings are plugged; sectors are welded together to form hollow toroidal shell of blanket rear plate. Proposed design provides for double-barrier arrangement for coolant path. EFFECT: facilitated manufacture, reduced labor consumption, reduced mass of large structure, improved cooling conditions and reliability. 4 dwg
