FIELD: mechanical engineering; grinding tools. SUBSTANCE: proposed method is aimed at providing optimum structure of grinding wheels and it includes determination of consumption of abrasive grains in process of grinding. Efficiency of bond is determined as ratio of value of consumption of abrasives in grinding wheel with one layer of abrasive secured on wheel body by layer of galvanic coating to consumption of said abrasive in grinding wheel with bond to be evaluated. EFFECT: improved accuracy of efficiency of grinding wheel bond by carrying out tests realistic in terms of service conditions of grinding wheel. 1 tbl
