FIELD: producing grinding wheels from superhard abrasive material. SUBSTANCE: method allows to design optimum structure of wheels due to separated specifying and improving properties of the binder. The grinding wheel with abrasive grains is used in measuring speed of linear wear of the binder relative to the base surface of the wheel. The abrasive grains are of maximum possible hardness and concentration which provides minimum specific consumption. The wear resistance of the binder is measured in the zone located in front of the abrasive grains. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy in measuring wear resistance of the binder. 1 dwg, 1 tbl
