FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: converter has fixed hydraulic cylinders communicating one with another, power source for supplying energy carrier, and flexible members. Hydraulic cylinders are arranged in pairs, each comprising of axially aligned power cylinder and loading cylinder, whose rods are facing one another. Power source is communicating with above-piston cavity of power cylinder of first pair of cylinders. Above-piston cavity of power cylinder of each subsequent pair of cylinders is communicating with loading cylinder cavity of previous pair of cylinders. Power cylinder of each pair of cylinders has piston with section area exceeding section area of associated loading cylinder. Flexible members are positioned between rods of power and loading cylinders of each pair of cylinders arranged in front of each outer pair of cylinders. Rods of power and loading cylinders of said pair of cylinders are arranged so as to receive object to be pressed between them. EFFECT: increased efficiency and simplified construction. 1 dwg
