FIELD: heat-mass transfer processes, particularly, production of water from atmospheric air (including processes for fresh water production in absence of access to natural water sources) and also atmospheric air conditioning with use of artificial cold. SUBSTANCE: method includes formation of flow of air containing water vapors; preliminary cooling of air by flow of circulating water; air cooling to temperature below dew point; discharge of condensate to user; cooling of circulating water and condenser of refrigerating unit with dehydrated air. Air preliminary cooling is combined with increase of air relative humidity by direct contact of air with flow of circulating water, and discharge of condensate to user is performed so that water volume in circulating flow does not reduce. Device for claimed method embodiment has channel with fan for formation and transportation of air flow containing water vapors. Located in channel in direction of air flow are sections of heat exchanger separated by cooling member of refrigerating machine, refrigerating machine condenser, condensate accumulator communicating with a part of channel, circulating pump with pipeline. The first section of heat exchanger in direction of air flow has a sprinkler connected by means of pipeline with the second section of heat exchanger, circulating pump and condensate accumulator. Heat exchanger surface of its first section is permeable for air and water. EFFECT: reduced specific parameters of power consumption, weight, overall dimensions and cost of equipment. 8 cl, 2 dwg
