METHOD OF NONUNIFORM OIL DEPOSIT DEVELOPMENT Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: oil producing industry, development of oil deposits; applicable in final stages of deposit operation. SUBSTANCE: method includes drilling of vertical injection and producing wells, waterflooding of formation, withdrawal of oil to surface. Then horizontal wells or horizontal boreholes are drilled from vertical wells with consideration of volume nonuniformity of formation. Development of deposit with drilling of horizontal wells or horizontal boreholes from horizontal wells is carried out with stage change of development system and selection of sections for drilling of wells ensuring attainment of economic efficiency of deposit operation. At each stage of development, orientation of horizontal boreholes and location of injection wells are selected with consideration of presence of natural impermeable shields with overlying and underlying water-saturated of waterflooded formations consideration of direction of movement of oil drive front.
