FIELD: mechanical engineering, measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: invention can be specifically employed to test safety of structures in operational atomic power stations, in particular. For realization of procedure two toothings are formed along bar. In one of them strain gauges are put on naked reinforcement and initial, relative, longitudinal deformation of reinforcement is measured. In another toothing reinforcement is cut, concrete layer is opened in sequence with exposure of reinforcement between toothings till one toothing is formed. Relative longitudinal deformation is measured second time. Difference of two measured deformations is used to compute force affecting reinforcement prior to its cutting. Force converter installed instead of cut-out section of exposed reinforcement bar is employed to measure present values of force developed in reinforcement of reinforced concrete structure. Tension unit used to reproduce specified value of force is positioned in same reinforcement bar when force converter is installed. This force is controlled by force converter and/or strain gauge. On completion of test toothing is covered with concrete. EFFECT: increased measurement accuracy. 8 cl, 4 dwg
