SUBSTANCE: hinged sub consists of body, hollow shaft with spherical thrust bearing. In this case, body and hollow shaft are made with contacting members for torque transmission. Hinged sub has hollow stem with seal installed in its body. Hollow stem has shank located in cavity of hollow shaft, and sealing member is located on stem shank at a distance not above 1/4 pf radius of sealed surface from plane running through center of sphere of thrust bearing and perpendicular to axis of hollow shaft.
