PROCEDURE OF DIRECTION FINDING OF SIGNAL SOURCE Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

Abstract RU 2192651 C2

FIELD: radio engineering systems determining angular coordinates of signal source, navigation, direction finding, radiolocation equipment determining bearing of source of a priori unknown signal. SUBSTANCE: procedure of direction finding of signal source is based on computation of spatial Fourier spectrum of signal received by elements of linear equidistant antenna array. Signal on which bearing is taken is in addition received by elements of second linear equidistant antenna array positioned perpendicular to first linear equidistant antenna array, conjugate-complex spatial Fourier spectrum of signal on which bearing is taken and which is received by elements of second linear equidistant antenna array is computed, scales of both computed spatial spectra of signal on which bearing is shot are converted according to logarithmic law, correlation analysis and measurement of relative shift of converted spatial spectra of signal on which bearing is taken are conducted and angular coordinate ( bearing ) of signal source is evaluated in agreement with expression θ = arctg(expΔ), where Δ is relative shift of converted spectra of signal on which bearing is shot. EFFECT: increased efficiency of direction finding thanks to possibility of direction finding on source of any, a priori unknown signal. 2 dwg
