FIELD: hydroacoustics.
SUBSTANCE: at each processing cycle, two channels directed in the same reference direction with separated phase centres are formed on the antenna array, the phase difference of the signals at their output is estimated and converted into an angular mismatch between the angle of arrival of the signal and the reference direction, current bearing estimates are obtained, and dynamically accumulated them over a large time interval, adjusting the reference direction in the next cycles, while additionally forming an estimate of the envelope of the signal at the output of the channel, formed in the direction of its source, which is used to determine the moment of appearance and termination of the action of strong impulse noise. If there is a sharp (more than doubling) increase in the envelope value in any processing cycle, this and the following cycles are excluded from processing until the effect of the pulse noise ends, while acoustic contact with the signal source is maintained by extrapolating the reference directions based on estimates of the bearing and the magnitude of its change developed before the onset of the pulse interference.
EFFECT: improved reliability of bearing tracking of a signal from a moving emission source under the conditions of pulse interference without reducing the accuracy of direction finding and without operator participation by excluding temporary fragments of pulse interference from signal processing.
