ROAD BUMPER Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: construction industry, equipment of motor roads for visual orientation and direction of traffic flows, for detour of obstacles and for keeping and stopping vehicles in case of frontal collision before guarded obstacle. SUBSTANCE: hollow body of bumper is made of plastic material, for instance polyethylene and has base, upper surface and four walls. Front and rear walls are convex and flat side walls are parallel one another. Front wall has cylindrical form. Curvature radius of rear wall is larger than curvature radius of front wall and rear wall is fitted with attachment units to connect proper units of joined sections in case of necessity. Upper surface includes three sections. Flat horizontal section runs from jointing of front wall with side walls towards rear wall. Two flat sections inclined downwards run from horizontal section ahead and back. Inclination of front section amounts to 15^°±10^° degrees with respect to horizontal plane and inclination of rear section amounts to 55^°±30^° degrees with respect to horizontal plane. EFFECT: enhanced safety of repair operations with provision for high degree of absorption of bump, increased convenience in bumper handling, provision for good appearance and visual identification. 11 cl, 7 dwg
