SUBSTANCE: large-period lattice is manufactured in agreement with invention thanks to selective transmission of light to optical fiber since amplitude mask periodically lets laser radiation pass to optical fiber. Amplitude masks includes two masks having periodically alternating regions letting laser radiation pass and do not letting laser radiation pass. Two masks are mounted for rotation in opposite directions ensuring dependence of period of amplitude mask on angle of turn of masks. Angle of turn of masks is adjusted depending on measured maximum coefficient of radiation damping. EFFECT: formation of mask with variable period. 9 cl, 7 dwg
