FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: transformer has low-voltage internal winding and large-diameter high- voltage winding both concentrically mounted on magnetic core. First shield is arranged outside of high-voltage winding and is electrically connected to the latter. Second shield is placed between windings and electrically connected by means of two conducting members to magnetic core and to ground. Both conducting members are disposed on opposite sides of one of shield edges in same plane in vicinity of gap. EFFECT: enhanced reliability and safety of transformer; provision for surge protection of internal winding. 3 dwg
