FIELD: concentrating of ores by wet gravitational separation in flow of pulp running over inclined working surface; separation of dry grain materials by density of grains. SUBSTANCE: gravitational separator includes the following components located in succession in vertical axis: feeder, at least one tier of separation consisting of pulp distributor, working surface made in form of overturned cone-shaped or pyramid-shaped surface and unloading unit with cut-off device fitted in lower portion of working surface; it has outlets for heavy and light fractions; riffles are radially fitted on working surface with grooves between them; height of riffles in way to cut-off device of unloading unit increases from zero whose point is located at distance equal to 2/3 of distance from cut-off device and width of grooves between riffles narrows in way to cut-off device of unloading unit.
