FIELD: transport engineering; operation of rotor- screw amphibian vehicles. SUBSTANCE: according to proposed method, water is pumped out of front spaces pf propulsion unit rotors, in direction of movement, before getting to ground, and pumping out water left in space, when vehicle is on ground. With rotors partially getting on ground, water from rear spaces is pumped out and simultaneously pumped into front spaces in direction of movement. It is expedient, when realizing the method, to pump water from rear spaces into front spaces in direction of movement when vehicle has partially got out of water. Device for implementing the method has housing, rotor-screw propulsion, unit, with at least front and rear spaces of rotor, and hydraulic system with intake and drain main lines. Hydraulic system connected said spaces with ends of intake and drain main lines. Hydraulic system has device to transfer water between front and rear spaces of rotors. Group of inventions combined by one idea is aimed at facilitating getting out of water of amphibian vehicle by pumping water from rear spaces into front spaces of rotor when vehicle has trim by the stern which increases adhesion of front parts of rotors with ground edge at simultaneous reduction of mass of rear parts of rotors dipped in water.
