FIELD: inorganic compounds technology. SUBSTANCE: lithium peroxide, used for preparing carbon dioxide absorbent and as oxygen source, is prepared as follows. Organic solvent, e.g. ethanol, and lithium hydroxide monohydrate are mixed and heated. At temperature by 5-10 C inferior to boiling temperature of solvent, 30% hydrogen peroxide is added to molar ratio LiOH/H2O2 = 1: (1.1-1.15). Precipitate is filtered away, washed by organic solvent, and dried for 30-40 min in vacuum drying box at 35-40 C. Temperature is then raised to 125-135 C and drying is continued for further 8-9 h. Residual pressure in drying box does not exceed 30 mm Hg. To filtrate and wash solution is added anhydrous LiOH. Precipitate is filtered off and heated at 160-180 C. To regenerated solvent is added ethanol. Resulting mixture is combined with lithium hydroxide monohydrate. Yield regarding lithium in 5 cycles is 95.8-96.6% and product contains 86-94 wt % lithium peroxide. EFFECT: increased yield of product. 6 cl, 1 tbl, 7 ex
