FIELD: manufacture of building materials. SUBSTANCE: substance containing mixture of various-modification bitumens and limestone mineral powder is used when roofing and waterproofing coverings are formed in industrial, civil, and hydroengineering construction. More particularly, on mixing heated bitumen 60-70% with limestone mineral powder 30-40% having grain and chemical composition, organomineral binding substance is formed, which differs from analogues in that it possesses excellent adhesive capability enabling fabrication of waterproofing, heat-resistant, frost- resistant, and durable roofing and waterproofing coverings. These coverings are resistant against atmospheric effects and solar radiation, are nontoxic and environmentally safer than any of roofing and insulation materials now applied. Mineral powder has porosity not higher than 29 vol.% and contains clay impurities (Al₂O₃+Fe₂O₃) not more than 0.5%. EFFECT: improved working characteristics of coverings.
