FIELD: railway transport. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machines for construction and repair of railway tracks, particularly, to device for consolidating ballast and lining the tracks. Tie tamping machine has frame resting on running bogies, raising and lining set installed on frame, two tampers spaced relative to machine frame, each including eccentric shaft, levers, carrying tamping tools, power cylinders for clamping and releasing the tools, connecting levers with eccentric shaft and carrying frame on which one tamper is installed for displacement under action of drive along vertical guides, carrying frame installed on machine frame for displacement across machine under action of drive. Second tamper is installed on said carrying frame for displacement along vertical guides by means of drive. Tamping tool clamping and releasing power cylinder of at least one tamper are arranged at angle of 40^°-60^° relative to each other. Each tamping tool has two working surfaces pointed to opposite sides along machine. Second tamper is provided with drives to turn tamping tools around horizontal axes. Invention improves quality of tie tamping, reduces overall dimensions of at least one tamper. EFFECT: simplified design of machine. 2 cl, 10 dwg
