COLLAPSIBLE SPADE Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: agricultural engineering. SUBSTANCE: spade has tubular handle, which may be collapsed into two parts. Length of handle part proximate to blade is equal to length of blade. Axis of other handle part is aligned with plane extending through spade side ribs, when apparatus is in "spade" position. Pointed tip is fixed through, for example, threaded connection in handle at end opposite to blade and may be set in working or collapsed position. Slots formed in nut have width at least equal to that of pointed part of tip. Collapsible spade may be used by tourists, combat engineers, car drivers and farmers.
