FIELD: transport engineering; devices preventing hijacking of automobiles. SUBSTANCE: proposed device contains stop 1, lock consisting of housing 2 and security mechanism 3 and coupling consisting of coupling members 7 and 8. security mechanism 3 is connected with spring-loaded flag 14 acting onto spring-loaded detent 16 one end of which is fitted in hole 11 of coupling member 7. Stop 1 is connected with lock housing 2 by means of guide 4 and 5 to form cavity accommodating the coupling. Housing 2 is provided with two adjacent spaces one of which accommodates security mechanism 3 and flag 14. Other adjacent space accommodates detent 16 spring-loaded in direction from coupling and ball 18 engaging with shaped surface of detent 16. Detent is provided with step for engaging with flag 14. Slots 20 and 21 are made in lock housing 2 doe engagement with ball 18. With automobile steering shaft in locked position, one end of detent 16 is located in hole 11 on coupling, flag engages with step 19 and ball 18 is located simultaneously in both slots 20 and 21 of lock housing and stop.
