FIELD: agricultural engineering. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has slotted cylindrical drum, inclined conveyor-feeder, feeding chamber and drive mechanism. Gauging surface of drum is positioned at an angle to horizontal plane and is defined by tension bars arranged on drum generatrices. Circular rings and replaceable spacer bushings are put onto drum so that circular ring spacing on upper (front) drum half is greater than on lower drum half. Front ends of tension bars are secured to continuous disk, to which bearing supported pin is attached, and rear ends of tension bars are attached to rim resting upon guiding rollers. EFFECT: increased precision of root and fruit gauging procedure, reduced damage to roots and fruit and increased efficiency. 3 cl, 3 dwg
