FIELD: medical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves performing biophysical modeling of standing waves in external acoustic meatus (as if it were resonant tube with skewed base) to explain occurrence of maximum ear sensitivity zone near the perceptability threshold on audiogram. New linear external acoustic meatus parameters are determined like minimum proximal length Ldist, minimum distance from the passage beginning to tympanic membrane ring having corresponding maximum frequency from the determined ear sensitivity range νmin, Lprox = v/(4νmax), mean (apical, umbilical) passage length Lapex along its longitudinal axis as distance from the beginning to the apex (umbilicus) of the tympanic membrane with corresponding minimum frequency on the audiogram, νapex, Lapex = v/(4νapex), maximum (distal) passage length Ldist as maximum distance from its beginning to the tympanic membrane beginning having corresponding minimum frequency from the determined range, νmin, Ldist = v/(4νmin). EFFECT: noninvasive method of calculation. 2 cl, 5 dwg
