FIELD: medical engineering. SUBSTANCE: device has flexible hardly elastic belt embracing patient chest and attached to force converter unit. The force converter unit transforms force directed downward into its component directed to the chest and into two more components of belt tension force. The force converter unit has two lever units with two separated arms available in each of them, the arms being rotatable relative to the base. Treatment method involves placing device base near the patient sternum and belt ends are connected to one of ends of each lever unit. The opposite lever units ends that are the most close to handles are pressed in the direction of the chest causing in this way belt tension and pressing the chest. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of resuscitation treatment and in restoring blood circulation. 40 cl, 16 dwg
