FIELD: designs of contact devices of absorption and rectification apparatuses. SUBSTANCE: overflow device presents overflow sleeve adjacent to plate body and having overflow strip. Overflow device has gas exhaust pipes whose lower ends are located near to overflow strip, and its upper ends are located near column wall. Installed above lower parts of gas exhaust pipes is liquid dissector made in the form of thin horizontal rods or plates. Increased efficiency of overflow device is attained by increase of working perimeter of overflow device owing to withdrawal of overflow strip from upper ends of gas exhaust pipes and organization of effective degassing of gas-liquid flow due to splitting of jet on liquid dissector, jet partial degassing and provided withdrawal of gases from overflow device. Claimed device is used in gas and oil producing, petrochemical and other industries. EFFECT: improved design of overflow device. 2 cl, 4 dwg
