FIELD: devices for silencing noise of manual pneumatic tools such as grinding, polishing and drilling apparatuses with rotary working organ. SUBSTANCE: silencer includes casing of sound absorbing material put on tubular housing. There are annular grooves between casing and housing for air draining; said grooves are communicated with exhaust duct of engine through radial openings provided in housing. Said annular grooves in silencer housing are mutually separated by means of partitions having lengthwise slits. Said slits may be shifted one relative to another in circumferential direction. Such design of silencer provides multiple expansion of air jet discharging out of pneumatic engine. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of noise silencing, comfortable using of tool. 1 dwg
