DEVICE FOR ULTRASONIC MONITORING OF CYLINDRICAL ARTICLES Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: nondestructive testing of cylindrical articles; designing equipment for monitoring backing-up rolls of rolling mills. SUBSTANCE: proposed device has body made in form of bracket, acoustic unit with holder for ultrasonic transducers and contact liquid supply unit. Bracket is made in form of fork with plate mounted between its ends; mounted orthogonally on this plate is cylindrical rod of contact liquid supply unit which consists of upper swivel part located above plate and lower hollow part made in form of distributing manifold located under plate. Passages of manifold are connected with holders of transducers by means of flexible hoses. Device is provided with pressure regulator. Acoustic unit is made in form of U-shaped fork rigidly connected with lower portion of cylindrical rod with larger rocker arms secured on its ends; smaller rocker arms are articulated on ends of each larger rocker arm and are rigidly connected in pairs. Ultrasonic transducer holders are mounted between each pair of smaller rocker arms by means of axially movable swivel axles provided with locking mechanism. Each ultrasonic transducer is made in form of orthogonal frames located one in other. Inner frame is connected with outer one for motion without limitation of degree of freedom. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of measurements; autonomous calibration of transducers against primary standards. 3 cl, 5 dwg
