FIELD: data transmission methods using open optical communication systems. SUBSTANCE: method includes shaping of several optical beams, their modulation by same signal, and their transmission to one receiver, generated beams having relatively nonparallel axes. In addition at least two beams are conveyed to one receiving aperture of receiver or at least two beams are conveyed to different receiving apertures of receiver, and optical radiation from at least two receiving apertures is passed to common photodetector. At least one of beams is generated proceeding from condition D > d or at least one of beams is shaped proceeding from condition or at least two beams are produced by splitting pre- modulated optical radiation of one source.
