FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method involves providing hot rolling of strips with regulated temperature at final rolling stage; cooling and winding strips into rolls. Temperature at final rolling stage is maintained within the range of 840-880 C. Strips are wound into rolls at temperature of 620-650 C with following cooling to ambient temperature for 71-120 hours. Strips are manufactured on continuous wide strip mill and are used for production of pipes for main oil and gas pipelines. EFFECT: improved toughness and resistance to sulfide stress cracking. 2 tbl
