GEAR TO LAY ANTIFILTRATION FILM CURTAIN Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: water-development projects, formation of antifiltration film curtains in the form of screens and diaphragms in ground hydraulic structures. SUBSTANCE: gear includes loading chamber with roll of film and braking strap, guiding chamber with flat flanges and curvilinear narrowing and rectilinear sections, flat pressure springs and vibrators. One wall of guiding chamber is convex and another its wall is concave, they are smoothly joined to flat flanges. Inside guiding chamber there are anchored on convex wall straps of streamline form diverging symmetrically and terminated in flanges, concave wall carries pile carpets which pile fills space of guiding chamber. Braking strap constantly contacts roll of film preventing inertial rotation of roll and interacts with audio signal device. Gear provides for uniform distribution of film along scoop-like profile of guiding chamber and reliable formation of self-sealing joints with film panels of adjacent gears, for decreased resistance of ground when gear is lifted, inertia-free rotation of roll in loading chamber and for automatic warning on time of roll reloading.
