FIELD: artillery, applicable for no-fire determination and taking into consideration of shell deviation from target before direct fire. SUBSTANCE: method consists in the fact that the deviations from the bore rectilinearity in separate bore sections are measured, and depending on their value, the respective components of the shell deviation for each section are determined. Then the shell deviations from the target without fire are determined as a sum of the components of shell deviations for each section and a steady component from a rectilinear barrel, after that the correction to the sight angle for shell deviation is determined, which then is introduced to the gun sighting complex. EFFECT: prevented material expenditures connected with consumption of ammunition, enhanced service life of gun barrels in military units, provided environmental safety. 1 tbl
