SUBSTANCE: for test of electrode line of bipolar high-voltage installation for DC transmission comprised of two lines pulse asymmetric with reference to ground and pulse symmetric with reference to ground in counterphase mode are fed into lines and actual echo curve is recorded from echo signals and compared with dynamic specified echo curve. If value of field exceeds allowance specified for difference echo curve fault signal is generated. In this way test method and facility are obtained which are independent of heavily variable conduction of ground, have longer range with simultaneous reduction of echo dissipation, which emits lesser electromagnetic energy and do not require any additional decoupling elements.
